  Police Rescue Two Robbery Suspects from Angry Mob in Awka Anambra State Police Command has rescued two suspected robbers from being lynched by angry mob in Awka the capital city of the state. It was gathered that the suspects were trying to snatch money from a lady  who made withdrawal from Automated Teller Machine (ATM) along zik's Avenue road in Awka. The suspects were reportedly beaten to stupor by the angry mob before police arrived the scene and rescued them. While confirming the incident yeasterday the state Police Public Relations Officer  Tochukwu Ikenga DSP,  gave the names of the suspects as Stephen Okoye(19) and Chukwumeka Nwudo( 27), adding that a locally-made pistol and live cartridge were recovered from the suspects.   Anambra Police Neutralizes Gunmen Driver , Recover Vehicle, Charms.   Anambra State Police Operatives have gun down the driver conveying  gunmen in Uli Ihiala local government areas of the state. The police operatives recovered one Honda Odyssey salon car with reg nos. WER 221 ZS-IMO and Charms after killing the driver around quarter to 5pm  today being Sunday 26th June. In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer DSP Tochukwu Ikenga stated " The Operatives at a nipping point along Onitsha/Owerri road, Uli repelled an attack by the gunmen.  "The gunmen applied one-way and started shooting sporadically, approaching the personnel at the nipping point.  "The Operatives swiftly engage the arm men and demobilize their operational vehicle. While some them escape through the bush, the driver was neutralized. No lost of life on part of the police.  "Operation is still ongoing in the area, further details shall be communicated please! Ikenga added.

Anambra Police rescue one kidnapped victim, recover two vehicles. Anambra police command has rescued one kidnapped victim at Nwanchi village Agulu in Aniocha local government area of the state. The victim was put in the trunk of his car, a Lexus 350 salon, but was later rescued by police operatives who were tipped off about the incident.  According to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state,   DSP Toochukwu Ikenga said: “Police  Operatives at about 4pm, today 25/6/2022 rescue an abducted victim and recovers one Lexus 350 Salon with Reg. Nos. EPE 316 HE and Ford SUV with Reg Nos. GGE 769 FT along Ezinifite road, Aguata LGA. "The victim was abducted in the early hours of today at Nwanchi village, Agulu. The abductors, forced the victim inside the booth of his Lexus and took off.   100 Days In Office; Bumpy And Nothing To Celebrate Says Soludo . Gov Charles Soludo has said that there is nothing to celebrate in his one hundred years in office insisting that he is not so particular about calling for celebration as according to him it has been bumpy and challenging. This is coming as the Anambra state House of Assembly is yet to pass the Supplementary Budget of N170 billion presented by Soludo last month. According to the Governor during his broadcast at the governor's lodge Amawbia, he noted that massive road construction and rehabilitation would commence at the end of the rainy season while waiting for the State Assembly to pass the budget. Specifically, the governor decried the worrisome zero oil revenue to deal with the humongous challenges in the government and governance systems in the state. 100 Days in Office: Anambra Speaker Lauds Soludo on Development The Anambra State House of Assembly has described the first one hundred days in office of Governor Chukwuma Soludo as eventful. Anambra police rescue two kidnap victims, As Angry mob lynch suspect     The Anambra State Police command in  collaboration  with security operatives have  rescued two kidnap victims yeasterday and recover two vehicles. According to statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said  that security operatives intercepted a seven man kidnap gang along Awada in Obosi Idemili North  local government areas of Anambra State but  in attempt to arrest the criminals, six out of the seven gang member escaped. He said that the gang   abandon both the two  victims as well as  vehicle and their operational vehicle, a Toyota Highlander jeep with reg nos NSH 398 HA and Toyota Camry with reg nos BRS 941 AA. At least seven persons were injured in Nteje community in Oyi local government area of Anambra State following the communal clash between the natives and suspected security operatives over land grabbing.   Gang War ; 5 killed as IPOB, Unknown gunmen Clash Five persons  were reportedly killed on Friday during a confrontation between members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and unknown gunmen at Ihiala, Anambra State.      Baby Factory: Police Rescued 35 girls  in  Anambra. Anambra Police Command has  rescued 35 girls used for baby factory and other  crimes in a hotel in the state.   Anambra INEC Opens Twenty five More Reg Centers.  Anambra state Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has added twenty five more voter registration centers in order to meet up with the surge of illegible voters seeking to register as voters in the area. By this addition , the number has increased from sixty two to eighty seven while the office of the Commission in Nnewi South local government area has been moved to Nnewi North local government area. Similarly the commission"s office at Idemili North, Ogbaru and Ayamelum council areas attacked by gunmen have also been reopened.
