  Anambra CP Expresses Commitment Towards Enhancement of Safety . The Commissioner of police Anambra State Command Echeng Echeng has expressed his commitment towards enhancing peace and safety in the State. The CP gave this hint  while receiving a building donated by a public- spirited  Anambra man to the command . The building is for purpose of police station base at Nkwelle Ezunaka in Oyi Local government area of the state. Speaking on behalf of the CP, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Operations in the  command, DCP Aderemi Adeoye, described the edifice as a step in the right direction . IGP Presents N9M To Some Families Of Police Officers Killed By Gunmen In Anambra. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba Alkali, has presented cheques worth N9,100,000 to 15 families of deceased police officers attached to Anambra command. Speaking during the presentation ,Anambra State Police Commissioner, CP Echeng Echeng, who performed the function on behalf of IGP said  the officers died during active service . Echeng presented the cheques to the families the deceased at the state police command’s headquarters, today. HURRICANE NEWS gathered that the cheques were from the Inspector-General of Police Family Welfare Insurance Scheme, which seeks to boost the moral of officers while carrying out their duties.   FGN/IFAD-VCDP distribute  agric inputs worth over N134.6m to farmers in Anambra  Agricultural inputs worth more than N134.6 million have distributed to 1, 260 wet season rice and cassava farmers by the (Federal Government of Nigeria/International Foods and Agricultural Development-Value Chain Development Programme (FGN/IFAD-VCDP) in Anambra. Dr Foster Ihejiofor, the state commissioner for Agriculture disclosed this while monitoring the distribution of the inputs to farmers at Umunze, Orumba South and Achalla, Awka North Local Government Areas respectively on Wednesday. Ihejiofor said the inputs comprising bags of NPK and Urea fertilizers, cassava cuttings, rice seed and litres of selective and non-selective herbicides came from the partnership between the state and FGN/IFAD-VCDP. “In line with the partnership, a benefitting farmer who must be a member of cooperative society paid 50 per cent of the cost while the remaining 50 per cent was paid by the state government and FGN/IFAD-VCDP

Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command , CP Echeng Echeng  has established an enforcement team to ensure full recovery of all Police spy plate numbers in the area. This is inline with the Inspector General of police IGP’s recent order banning possession and usage of Police Spy vehicle number plates across the country. In a statement signed by the Command's Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the Commissioner while addressing the Command’s Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and other heads of formations in the Command, tasked the officers to give full support to the enforcement team in their efforts at enforcing the order to the letter. Addressing the newly recruited police officers at the headquarters in Amawbia, today, the Commissioner of police Anambra State, Echeng Echeng observed that the success of the officers are dependent on the quality of character, discipline and professionalism.   Suspected Cult group attack Anambra monarch, others, vandalise over N25m worth properties   Hoodlums suspected to be cultists have launched an attack on the traditional ruler of Ebenebe, Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra, Igwe Christopher Nnaegbune and some of his subjects. It was gathered that the suspects  vandalized some properties worth about two point five million naira. The incident occured between 10pm to 12 midnight last week Monday, June 27, but no life was lost. This was barely five months after a suspected cult group attacked and killed about twenty persons at a burial ceremony in the same community.
