  Soldiers kill IPOB operatives in Anambra forest, recover arms, animations . Nkiru Nwagbo, Awka Operatives of the Nigerian Army have allegedly dislodged operatives of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the military arm of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). It was gathered that the operation was carried out in collaboration with other security agencies, and was able to dislodge a notorious stronghold of the proscribed group in a forest in Lilu community in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. Lilu is a border town between Imo and Anambra States, which is said to be used as an operational base of the outlawed group. In a statement by the Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu stated that the operations, which was conducted in the early hours of Monday 17 January 2022, led to the neutralization of  some gunmen in a fire fight that ensued. Senate of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University under the Chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor, Prof Greg C. Nwakoby, in its 121st Sitting, on the 13th of January, 2022, elected its Representatives to the Governing Council of the University. The election, which was keenly contested produced the following as Senate’s Representative to the 6th Council of the University. They are: 1. Prof. Nwozor, K.K 2. Prof. Obi, Emeka Anthony 3. A non-profit organization,  Ezeakunne Foundation has distributed bags of rice, and cash gifts among others to women, men and Pupils from government and Christian primary schools in  Onneh community in Orumba South Anambra  Local Government Area of Anambra State. The founder of the foundation, Nze Vincent Nwankwo an illustrious son of Onneh community, said the gesture was an annual ritual from the foundation for the past twenty years as his contribution to the welfare of rural women and men  in the community.
