  Anambra Community Risks Electrocution As Rainfall Destroys Power 8 Power Poles . Residents of Adabebe village in Amawbia Community,Awka South local government area are currently at the risk of being electrocuted following the destruction of eight electric poles by heavy down pure in the area. The rainfall came few days after the construction of drainage which is on going had commenced and has also stalled the drainage and road construction in the village. Already the Deputy Speaker of Anambra state House of Assembly Nze Pius Okoye who resides in the area has contacted the Enugu Electrical Distribution Company EEDC over the incident but the body is yet to respond to the appeal. When reporters  visited the EEDC office in Awka no one was willing to speak on the matter and non confirmed receipt of the complaint from the the Deputy Speaker.   2 Million Die Yearly Due To Over Consumption Of Salt. Says Soludo. Over two million people die every year due to over consumption of salt across the world. To this end it has been advised that all ages should try as much as possible to reduce the rate of salt consumption during meals. According to the wife of Anambra state governor Dr Nonye Soludo while flagging off the Walk For Life program organized by the Ultimate Business Women and Farmers Association of Nigeria UBWFAN in Awka Anambra state she urged members of the Association to take a clue from this report and regulate the intake of sodium based foods. According to her the figure is a research carried out by the World Health Organization WHO adding that there is the need to reduce the high level of mortality rate the country.   Anambra Police Arrest 129 Suspects , Recover 25 Stolen Vehicles 26 Guns .  By Nkiru Nwagbo, Awka Operations of the Anambra  Police Command recorded major results following the arrest of 129  suspects involved in kidnapping, armed robbery and Vandalisation of materials used in the construction of the just concluded Second Niger Bridge project. A breakdown of the figure shows that 30 suspected to be members of insurgence group were arrested , 39 arm d robbery suspects arrested and 22 kidnap suspects were also arrested. Also a total of 26 guns , 93 rounds ammunitiion and 25 stolen vehicles used for the kidnapping , 34 tricycles 7 motorcycles and one full armoured cables were recovered during it's operations as well as 16 iron grills from second Niger Bridge.   Teacher's day: Soludo doles out 1.524 billion to Anambra Mission school to improve education  By Uchenna Eze Awka Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, presented cheques worth N1.524 billion to mission schools in the state as government support to improve quality of education and infrastructure. Governor Soludo presented the cheques to owners/operators of Anambra Mission Schools during a meeting held at Government Lodge, Amawbia. A total of 762 Anambra Mission Schools received N2,000,000 each from the government of Anambra State. Eight (8) schools returned to Salvation Army Schools received a total sum of N16,000,000. Soludo's wife recommends organic food, says salt and sugar can kill. Mrs Nonye Soludo, wife of the Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has warned against excessive consumption of salt and sugar, insisting that they are dangerous to health. As a consequence, she has called for urgent action to modify the over-production and over-consumption of foods and beverages that do not have healthy production and nutritional history.  Mrs Soludo stated this in Awka while running a review of her healthy living projects over the last month, noting that she was very concerned about excessive consumption of foods with high content of sodium(salt), sugar and unhealthy fats as against low intake of whole grains, pulses, vegetables and fruits.
