  ANAMBRA 2021: ex-President Jonathan's aide emerges guber candidate of ADC NKIRU NWAGBO, AWKA The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Wednesday, elected the former Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Technical matters and Member, Sure-P, Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo as its governorship candidate for Anambra state November 6 poll. The Chairman of ADC governorship electoral committee, Chief Anayo Arinze, announced Nwankpo as winner of the primary after a total of 7051 eligible delegates of the party in attendance gave him overwhelming 'yes' vote. Accepting his nomination, the flag bearer, Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo, thanked the delegates for the opportunity, assuring that he would run an open door policy. Nwankpo, who promised to step up the state security, added that his administration would ensure that no soul in Anambra state would be lost again to the hoodlums. Anambra state chapter of the People's Democratic Party PDP yesterday conducted parallel gubernatoral Primary elections which led to the nomination of two candidates. At the St Paul's Primary and secondly school Awka where the Chris Uba led faction of the PDP held it's election his, elder brother Sent Ugochukwu Uba emerged winner of the exercise pulling 275 votes to beat Godwin Ezeemo who 114 ..votes . Aside from Ezeemo who was present at the Uba led faction of PDP, the rest of the aspirants were at the Women Development Center which was still carrying out accreditation as at 6,30pm. By NKIRU NWAGBO ,AWK Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano has declared that All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) will win the November 6 gubernatorial election in the state with a greater margin than it did in each of the 21 local government areas in the state than it did in the November 17 vote which returned the party to office.   Anambra 2021: Soludo Becomes APGA GUBER Candidate By NKIRU NWAGBO AWKA Date June 23rd 2021 The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), loyal to governor Willie Obiano, Wednesday, elected Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo as its gubernatorial candidate for Anambra state 2021 poll. This is coming as the APGA faction led by Mr Jude Okeke announced the suspension of Soludo and three other chieftains of the party He further described the primary election held by the other faction illegal adding that their own Primary election would take place on the first day of July. Soludo, a former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, pooled 740 votes to defeat three other aspirants of the party in a faction primary held at Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka.   Nigeria"s Debt Profile Hits $7.8Trillion ---Frm CBN Deputy Gov. Moghalu.  NKIRU NWAGBO AWKA. 20/06/ 2021 Former Central Bank of Nigeria Deputy  governor  Prof Kingsley Moghalu yesterday announced that the country's debt profile has reached the sum of 7.8 trillion dollars in the last three years. Moghalu who disclosed this at Nnamdi Azikiwe University during the Kwechiri Political summit lamented that the level at which the federal government goes at borrowing is one that has heightened the inflation rate in the country. According to him "It is sad and very unfortunate that our government is neck deep into borrowing from the Central Bank without generating revenue and this has affected the inflation rate in our country.  Black Friday In Awka trailer Kill seven . Mob set Trailer load of Cow ablaze. By Nkiru Nwagbo, Awka Sat June 5th 2021 It was a black Saturday in Awka Anambra state capital when a trailer carrying cow lost control at kwata junction and rammed into a stretch of nine vehicles at the traffic light killing at least seven persons. Apparently angered by the incident some irate youths and commercial bus operators in the area descend on the trailer driver and his assistants beat them up and set the trailer ablaze  As at the Tim if this report by 5.  06 pm a detachment of soldiers excited Officers and men of the state fire service to extinguish the fire while the solders fired several gun shots to despass the irate youths. Due to the level of the fire it was not easy to make out the number of vehicles that were affected by the accident and the Anambra state Police Command is yet to make a statement on the incident.
