Ex-Governor Mbadinuju’s Burial: Anambra Shows Leadership By C. Don Adinuba In his famous study of leadership, Jim Collins, regarded as one of the most engaging leadership scholars across the globe, states in his book entitled Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap and Others Don’t, that there are otherwise excellent leaders who have the weakness of not wanting their successors to do very well. They relish being described as indispensable, even after they have left office. You can never hear them say anything positive about their predecessors or successors. But the best and most effective leaders, according to Collins, are those who acknowledge the contributions of others and are professionally competent as well as humble. “I am a giant because I am standing on the shoulders of other persons”, Nelson Mandela, a global hero, used to declare, as documented by his biographer, Martin Meredith, the resourceful historian, and journalist. The Anambra State government and people demo

MBADINUJU "S DAYS OF LONG KNIVES .  BY NKIRU NWAGBO The month of November this year would go into the history books as the month Anambra for the first time buried an ex- governor of the state. NKIRU NWAGBO who was there from his inauguration till his demise reports on the crucibles of his four year tenure . The banks of Otuocha River was polluted with blood of Omabala children and parents while the bomb blasts  reduced high rise buildings to dust along Awkuzu - Aguleri road to the main market. Human lives were treated with contempt as the Umuleri- Aguleri- Umu Oba Anam  war raged over the ownership of some potions of land bordering the two communities in Anambra East local government area. It had started in 1998 to 1999 and there seemed to be no end to the communal clash until he became the Governor of Anambra state. His first action  was to end the war and he stormed the area interfacing with the natives, Tin gods and principalities that had held the communities hostage and wit

Umunze is not headquarters of ESN Anambra Police says. NKIRU NWAGBO. AWKA. Odera and His Uncommon Spirituality

Image
Odera and His Uncommon Spirituality By Ody Chukwube  Odera's instructions were swift, dangerous and mind blowing that mid afternoon. "CPS (Chief Press Secretary), come along with me to the forests of Umuleri, Aguleri and Umuoba Anam , I want to---. "No, Sir" I interjected, as both cold and hot sweat struggled for space on my pitiful face, devastated by a mission which was, in my thinking, an obvious attempt at self- destruction. "But, Sir, this is extremely dangerous. Let us reach out to the security people for advice", I insisted.  Quoting Psalm 46:10, "be still, and know that I am God", Odera yelled at me even as he flipped through his Bible. "This is a trip we must undertake. The Commissioner of Police, the Director of SSS and the Army Commander at Onitsha, have warned against going to the forest, but they are not God".  I made another futile attempt to convince him, but he became furious and with a tone of finality, he declared &qu

LEADING BY EXAMPLE: SOLUDO’S DAD DIED IN ANAMBRA HOSPITAL

Image
LEADING BY EXAMPLE: SOLUDO’S DAD DIED IN ANAMBRA HOSPITAL NKIRU NWAGBO In a world inundated with political rhetoric and grandiose promises, it is rare to find a leader who not only talks the talk but also walks the walk.  Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, stands as an exemplar of hope, demonstrating through his actions that true leadership begins with leading by example.  His recent decision to admit and treat his late father at the Anambra State Teaching Hospital, known as Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, instead of seeking medical care abroad, speaks volumes about his genuine commitment to transforming the healthcare landscape in the State.  For far too long, Nigeria’s elite have made a habit of seeking medical treatment in foreign lands, leaving behind a trail of distrust in the country’s healthcare system.  This practice, though seemingly justified by concerns over quality and accessibility, inadvertently perpetuates a cycl

God has anointed Ngige as next Igbo president - Prophet Dan

God has anointed Ngige as next Igbo president - Prophet Dan By Uche Eze Awka Many times when we do not know the mind of God, we make mistakes. One who can be described as the octopus of prophesy, Prophet Dan Okechukwu Ezeudoka has made a staggering revelation concerning the long attempted Igbo president of Nigeria.  Speaking with the media recently, Prophet Dan recalled that he had made a prophesy in the past concerning Ngige and how he needs to either be the president of Igbo extraction people seek or the person to anoint that Igbo president.  He stated that recently the prophesy has become clearer indicating that indeed Ngige is the chosen one by God for Igbo President. In his words, “It is only what God says that I prophesy. I am the only one who maintained that Buhari was still alive when everyone was saying he had died. I am the one who prophesied about the outcome of several elections in Anambra State and beyond accurately and God perfected his prophesy. Therefore, by the Grace
