  Anambra LP Assembly Members Task Tinubu,Soludo To Fight Hunger. Donates 6 Months Salary To Constituents. By Nkiru Nwagbo, Awka. Eight members of the Anambra state House of Assembly under the platform of the Labor Party have urged  President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Gov Charles  Soludo to to stop the execution of projects and channel funds for those projects  into fighting the hardship in the country. The lawmakers also resolved to donate their six months salary to fight hunger and health challenges of members of their Constituencies.   Democractic Governance: journalists and the media can do better - IPC Executive Director From Uchenna Ezeadigwe  Awka Chief Executive Officer, International Press Centre, Mr Lanre Arogundade has stated that journalists and the media can do better in terms of reporting accurate and factual information about democratic governance and its electioneering processes in Nigeria. The media guru, made this assertion recently during the 2 day media workshop organised by the International Press Centre Lagos and support from the European Union held at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Porthacourt, Rivers state.   Anambra Residents warn Soludo oppositions not to distract ACTDA with unnecessary sentiment. By  Uche Ezeadigwe  Awka Some residents of Awka have warned political opposition's not to capitalize on the ongoing effort of giving the capital a facelift to mobilize against the present government. According to them, the administration of governor Chukwuma Soludo through the Awka Capital Territory Development Agency, ACTDA is doing a great job that no past government had ever done in the state and so needs all support instead of instigating business owners to turn against the government. They were reacting to the recent publication in some media outlets that vendors in the state were manhandled and displaced by ACTDA officials.  Our correspondent who interacted with the people reports that they cautioned against anyone hitting up the polity for personal gains as against the general growth and interest of the masses which the present administration is working hard to establish.   Political Icon Award: Lawmaker Congratulates Obi.  Nkiru Nwagbo, Awka. The lawmaker representing Awka South 1 state Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr Nigeria Mbachu has congratulated the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party in the past general election in Nigeria Mr . Peter Obi on his recognition as the Political ICON  of the year 2023 by the Sun Awards. The Sun Awards is a prestigious media honour that celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to various fields of endeavour in Nigeria. Recall that on Saturday february 17th, 2024 Mr. Obi was bestowed with the award at a ceremony in Lagos state. In his congratulatory message, Hon.
