Foundation Distributes food Items, Cash Gifts to Rural Dwellers in Anambra.

A non-profit organization, Ezeakunne Foundation has distributed bags of rice, and cash gifts among others to women, men and Pupils from government and Christian primary schools in Onneh community in Orumba South Anambra Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The founder of the foundation, Nze Vincent Nwankwo an illustrious son of Onneh community, said the gesture was an annual ritual from the foundation for the past twenty years as his contribution to the welfare of rural women and men in the community.
Ezeakunne Foundation Chief Nwankwo said has been yearly involved in the show of charity to widows and less privileged women of the Town, oldest men and women in the four villages in Onneh community.
He said, the foundation decided to involve outstanding pupils in the two primary schools in the community to encourage them in education. "Those pupils that got first position in the last term will be giving twenty thousand naira N20,000each , 2nd positions fifteen thousand naira each N15,000 while 3rd positions will get ten thousand naira each N10,000 each. Then the oldest men and women in each of the villages will be given fifty thousand naira each N50,000. 150 bags of rice will go to widows, less privileged in the community"
Speaking on the relevance and inspiration behind the outreach, Mr. Nwankwo noted that he was inspired by the charitable legacy of his late parents , adding that he is an orphan who suffered to make it and had made a vow to put smiles on the faces of people around him.
He commended Governor Willie Obiano for showing the community government's presence for the very first time, adding that he constructed all the assess road that lead to Peter University Onneh and apart from that according to him , Obiano's administration remembered the community during his N20million naira community choose your project initiative.
In his remarks, the Director General of the foundation Mr Anthony Nwafor urged the incoming government of Charles Soludo to construct drainages for the roads done by the outgoing government for his community insisting that the erosion will damage the good roads built for them by Obiano.
Nwafor, while commending the benefactor for tarring the road in the community, he urged state government to assist him in his mission towards providing quality life for the people of Onneh community.
Virginia Nwankwo, Uche Emmanuel and Angelina Aniaghor beneficiaries of program who spoke to Newsmen affirmed the outreach has been running for years now. They prayed God to bless their benefactor in the new year so he can continue to do more. Expressing joy about the exercise, they revealed they not only collected their bags of rice, wrappers and cash gifts but also ate and had lots to drinks.
