A Non Governmental Organization under the umbrella  of the ElectHer  in collaboration with the Nigeria Women Trust Fund (NWTF) has deployed a total of two hundred and twenty six ( 226) observers for the November 8th gubernatorial election in Anambra State.

The Non Governmental Organizations have also set up a situation room in Awka .

According to  Ibijoke Faborode, the Chief Executive Officer CEO of ElectHer , who spoke to journalists in Awka said that it would host joint  Data Center to ensure coordinated observation, analysis and rapid representing throughout the election period.

In her words" Collectively, the Gender Situation Room will deploy 226 field Observers across the 21 LGAs in Anambra State and will host a joint Data Center to ensure coordinated observation, analysis, and rapid reporting throughout the election period.

She said the aim of the organizations is to strengthening women's participation in election, electoral transparency, and inclusivity.

 Ibijoke Faborade further explained that the Nigeria Women Trust Fund is deploying it's flagship Gender and Election watch (GEW) initiative as part of the EUSDGN-supported Election observation Hub.

She noted that NWTF will deploy one hundred trained stationary observers across all 21LGAs of the State .

According to her" These observers were selected using a random sampling method to ensure representative coverage of communities.


 "Observers will report through the Gender and Election Watch (GEW) APP, enabling realtime submission, verification, and Analysis of field data.

"In addition, NWTF has established a fully equipped GEW Situation Room in Awka , staffed with 10 technical experts from diverse backgrounds, Including media , academia, civil society, and election monitoring .


" The Situation Room will analyse field reports , identify trends, and issue updates throughout election day.


She said through the initiative, NWTF aimed at promoting credible , transparent and inclusive elections which according to her where men, women and marginalized groups can participate freely and equally, Faborode added .
