Anambra Poll; DIG Okolo congratulates security personnel, political parties over peaceful conduct

The Deputy Inspector General of Police DIG in charge of the just concluded Anambra gubernatorial election DIG Benjamin Okolo has expressed the appreciation of the Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetoku Adeolu (PhD) (NPM) to officers and men of all the security operatives that look part in the conduct of the election.
Okolo who was deployed to Anambra for the conduct of the gubernatorial election in the area described the election as credible but was quick to add that it doesn't mean that there may have been some pockets of face off that were minimal known to the operatives.
"We are happy that elections have come and gone and by and large it was peaceful and security operatives conducted themselves professionally and even the political parties and their candidates displayed spirit of sportsmanship and brotherhood"
"We maintained and ensured neutrality as law enforcement agency and that is what it is supposed to be during election"
Okolo noted that the police is not concerned about who wins the election or which political party that would win but to guarantee peace law and order.
"We are not interested in which political party or candidate that would won the election all that we were interested in is peaceful conduct of the election and to ensure that it was free fair and transparent"
"We salute our officers and men for being professional I. The discharge of their duties and this also goes to other sister security organizations because the police alone cannot take the glory because it was a collective responsibility on the part of all the Service Commands in Anambra state"
"Yes the the politicians and the political parties must be commended for that spirit of sportsmanship which both their candidates and party members displayed and conducted themselves peacefully and come to think of it they are all brothers and sisters from the same Anambra state" he noted .
