Anambra Govt declares Onuorah as Authentic PG of Enugwu Agidi.
BY NKIRU NWAGBO,
The Anambra State Government has officially calm the week-long speculation and false social media reports that Hon. Ebuka Onuorah had been suspended as President General of the Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union, Njikoka Local Government Area.
In a communiqué issued today, 26th November 2025, by the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, and signed by the Honourable Commissioner, Hon. TonyCollins Nwabunwanne, the State Government explicitly declared:
“That Hon. Chukwuebuka David Onuorah is the substantive President General of the Enugwu-Agidi Brotherly Union.”
The communiqué, which emanated from a stakeholders’ meeting held at Government House, Awka, on the same day, was copied to the Special Adviser on Security, the Commissioner of Police, the Director of State Security Service, the Traditional Ruler of Enugwu-Agidi, the Mayor of Njikoka LGA, and other relevant authorities.
The document further announced that fresh elections into the Executive Committee of the Union will be conducted on 29th December 2025, with modalities clearly spelt out, including the use of secret ballot and accreditation through villages.
Speaking shortly after the meeting, a visibly elated President General, Hon. Chukwuebuka David Onuorah, thanked Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and the Honourable Commissioner for standing on the side of truth and justice.
“This communiqué has finally laid to rest the malicious falsehood that has been making the rounds on social media and in some beer parlour gossip circles that I was suspended,” Onuorah said.
“The Government of Anambra State has spoken clearly: I remain the authentic and substantive President General. Those who forged letters, sponsored fake petitions, and spread lies should be ashamed of themselves.”
He urged all sons and daughters of Enugwu-Agidi, both at home and in the diaspora, to disregard any contrary claims and prepare peacefully for the forthcoming election as directed by the State Government.
Community sources described today’s development as a major victory for due process and a humiliating defeat for a tiny minority that had attempted to seize power through blackmail, forgery, and character assassination.
The communiqué has been widely circulated and celebrated across Enugwu-Agidi villages and branches worldwide, with many residents expressing relief that the State Government has restored clarity and put an end to the orchestrated confusion.
