Mbah's  Defection To APC ; Nothing To Fear About Says APGA Nat Pub Sec

Nkiru Nwagbo,Awka.

National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Mazi Ejimofor Opara has described fears that Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra may be next after the defection of Enugu Governor Peter Mbah to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is inordinate , noting that there is nothing to fear about.

Opara who spoke with reporters in Awka on Thursday insisted that the fall of the People's Democratic Party PDP in the South East doesn't translate to APGA losing its strong hold in Anambra state.

"It didn't come as a surprise that the PDP in the South East met this fate going by the internal wranglings in the party from top to bottom"

"For us in  APGA this is a movement that has produced three Governors consecutively and would produce more Governors in the near future and in Anambra state the only party that has continued to hold swear is APGA and no other "

Opara contended that is has always been a sing - song at every election in Anambra state which according to him is being marketed by the drowning opposition who find comfort in peddling falsehood.

"What do you expect from the opposition at a time like this ?"

"There stock in trade is falsehood and make no mistake about it they are all bound to fail at the end of the day and APGA would always triumph "

Continuing Opara explained that ;

 " We do not want to be distracted by the rantings of a very infinitesimal number of the opposition and cannot be intimidated by the antics of those people "

"Bear in mind that the two political parties, are Progressives and have resolved to work and are working together hence there is no reason whatsoever for Governor Charles Soludo to leave APGA for another political party "he said.

Opara further dismissed the boast by the candidate of the APC , Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu that he would take Anambra state to the APC tagging such as mere day dreaming.

"Ukachukwu should wake up from his day dreaming because even in his party there is  suspected cold war between his supporters and that of his Running Mate Senator Uche Ekwunife and other containcous issues that are fall outs from the so called primary election  the party conducted which  have remained unresolved"

"He is merely participating and not contesting and you know what played out in the recent bye elections were he as a candidate and that of his Senatorial candidate could not win in their electoral wards"

"The mock election has indeed showcased the hollowness of Ukachukwu"s boast and has presented a point of departure in the November 8th gubernatorial election in Anambra state" he stated.
