As the November 8, 2025, Anambra governorship election approaches, the Ebonyi State indigenes residing in Anambra, under the umbrella of Ebonyi Solution Marshalls, have thrown their full weight behind the re-election bid of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
The group, recognized as the largest non-indigenous community in Anambra State, made the declaration during a grand solidarity rally held at the Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium, Onitsha, on Monday, October 13, 2025. The event also featured transporters under the banner of Transport Sector Solidarity Rally for Governor Soludo, who likewise endorsed the governor for a second term.
Speaking at the rally, President General of Ebonyi Solution Marshalls, Chief Chukwuma Otubelu, popularly known as Akusinaobi Chukwu and CEO of Herd Foam, Hero Foam, and Chuks Foam, revealed that over 50,000 Ebonyi indigenes residing across the 21 local government areas and 326 wards of Anambra State are registered voters with Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
He assured that all members of the group would mobilize their votes in support of Soludo’s re-election, citing the governor’s inclusive governance and people-oriented policies.
“Before now, we ensured that every eligible Ebonyi voter in Anambra obtained their PVCs because that is our power,” Chief Otubelu said. “We are supporting Soludo because we have benefited immensely from his administration — more than from any other government before him. Ebonyi indigenes have enjoyed free education, free maternity services, and improved infrastructure, courtesy of Soludo’s leadership.”
Otubelu further highlighted that Soludo’s administration restored Abakaliki Street in Awka — a symbolic location for Ebonyi residents — and transformed the once dilapidated Okpoko district in Onitsha, heavily populated by Ebonyi settlers, into a livable urban area.
“Our people will continue to pray for him and support him with everything we have,” he added.
Also speaking, Chief Monday Nwokoye, popularly known as Ikemba Okpoto and Director of the Special Anti-Touting Squad in Anambra State, described Ebonyi residents as a major voting bloc in the state.
“Forty percent of Anambra’s voting population are Ebonyi indigenes. We will deliver one hundred percent votes for Soludo,” Nwokoye declared.
Deputy President General of the group, Mr. Benjamin Okoro, described Governor Soludo as “their own person,” noting that the governor spent part of his formative years in Nkalagu, Ebonyi State.
“Soludo is our brother. He understands our people, and we will not only vote for him but also defend our votes,” Okoro affirmed.
Similarly, Ambassador Moses Igwe, President General of the Ebonyi Town Unions Association, Anambra State chapter, said the unanimous decision to back Soludo stemmed from the governor’s tangible projects and policies that have positively impacted Ebonyi indigenes in the state.
Reinforcing the group’s position, Comrade Chinedu Itumo, Youth Leader of Ebonyi Solution Marshalls in Ogbaru LGA and President General of Ezzea Ezekuna Assembly, also pledged the total support of Ebonyi youths for Soludo’s second-term bid.
Chairman of the occasion, Chief (Dr.) Godwin Ubaka Okeke, Chairman of GUO Group of Companies — represented by Chief Nelson Enendu — described Soludo as a result-oriented leader with no credible opposition in the upcoming election.
“Since Soludo has done well with the tasks given to him, he deserves more tasks. The people have seen his good works,” Okeke stated.
In his remarks, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee and Managing Director of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA-Brigade), Comrade Celestine Aniere, said the massive turnout reflected the people’s satisfaction with Soludo’s leadership.
“Governor Soludo continues to enjoy overwhelming support because of his transformative policies that have touched lives across all demographics,” Ainiere concluded.
The Ebonyi Solution Marshalls’ endorsement adds to the growing wave of political support for Governor Soludo’s re-election campaign, underscoring his broad acceptance among both indigenes and residents of Anambra State.
