The President-General of Umueri General Assembly, Anambra East Local Government Area, Amb. John Metchie, has vowed to ensure that one hundred percent votes be given to Governor Charles Soludo re-election come November 8th, 2025.
The Umueri born workaholic leader equally expressed happiness and thanked you message to Professor Soludo for approving the award of the Umueri road leading to Chinua Achebe International Airport.
Amb Metchie made this known on Thursday 18th September, 2025 during a solidarity/welcome visit of the Governor at Ama Umueri.
He described the governor’s approval to construct the Umueri–Chinua Achebe International Airport link road as a landmark achievement and one of the most significant gifts Governor Soludo could offer the people of Umueri Kingdom and the entire Omambala region.
“The entire Umueri community stands united in support of Governor Soludo’s reelection. His administration has brought meaningful development to our community, including the establishment of a well-equipped general hospital. “The forthcoming link road will connect Umueri and neighboring communities within Anambra East to the airport, enhancing accessibility and economic growth.”Metchie stated.
Amb. Metchie assured that Umueri will deliver 100% of its votes to Governor Soludo in the November 8 election, emphasizing that “one good turn deserves another.”
“We wholeheartedly back the governor for his love and dedication to our community. “This is the third or fourth visit by Governor Soludo to Umueri, demonstrating his commitment to restoring unity, peace, and progress. Today’s rally reaffirms that Umueri is fully behind his reelection; Soludo faces no competition here as every vote will go to him in recognition of his outstanding service.”he said.
He further declared that Soludo is divinely anointed to lead and rebuild Anambra State.
“We must support him for the betterment of Ndi Anambra” he added
Earlier in his remark, Hon. Ifeanyichukwu Chinweze, Chairman of Anambra East Local Government Area, praised Governor Soludo’s achievements over the past three years, noting that solution has really visited Anambra East.
He urged the people to unite behind Soludo to sustain the state’s ongoing development and to vote massively in his favor, enabling him to realize his vision of making Anambra a prosperous and livable state. “We appreciate the governor’s special affection for the people of Umueri. “He has transformed the Umueri General Hospital into one of the state’s best health facilities. His contributions to Umueri are numerous, and the community is deeply grateful".
“APGA is Anambra, and Anambra is APGA , nothing less, nothing more, we will deliver Prof Charles Soludo with 100 percent votes for continuity ”he stated.
In his reaction and overwhelmed by the massive turnout, Governor Soludo assured the people of Umueri that his administration will continue to improving the socio-economic development of the region while he pledged to construct the Umueri–Chinua Achebe International Airport link road, highlighting that the road would serve not only Umueri but also the surrounding communities in Anambra East.
“The Chinua Achebe International Airport is located within Umueri, so it is only fitting that the link road runs through the community. “I thank the people of Umueri, along with their traditional ruler, the Igwe, and the Oji Ana (elders), for their strong endorsement of my second term bid. Soludo must go again.”the governor stated.
Reaffirming the dominance of APGA in the state, Governor Soludo declared, “There is no other party in Anambra apart from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Our mandate is clear and undisputed.”
He also promised to dispatch commissioners of Works and Education to assess and renovate the community secondary school as requested by the residents.
Meanwhile, the event was attended by traditional rulers from the council area, top government officials, APGA chieftains, support groups, cultural dancers, and the elders of Umueri.
