Prof Abamara Appreciates God In Thanksgiving, Calls For Humility, Respect To Service

The Chief Executive Officer/Consultant, Clinical Psychologist and Mental Health expert, Nedal Psychological Clinic, Awka, and lecturer of the Department of Psychology, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka on Sunday, 14th Spet, 2025 expressed gratitude to God for standing by him through out his academic endeavours to the rank of professorship.
Professor Abamara was accompanied by families, friends, colleagues and relatives to the Chapel of Redemption, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, were he offered thanksgiving to almighty God and a donation for the church building.
Speaking during the Homily, the officiating priest, Rev Canon Maduabuchi Ezechukwu called on faithfuls to look unto Jesus as the only source of protection and hope. "No man can give you life t's only jesus who has come and died for our sins.
In his prayers Canon Ezechukwu asked God to continue to bless Prof Abamara and family, with the grace to continue to render services to the university community in good health and wisdom.
Addressing this reporter after the mass, wife of the celebrant, Lady Ifeanyinwa Abamara noted that the journey has not been an easy one but attributed the success as God's plan and unending love for Professor Abamara. "I want to use this opportunity to say a big congratulations to my lovely husband, we his family wish him more higher level, more success".
Earlier in his remarks, Professor Nnameka Abamara, professor of clinical psychology (mental health) alluding to the fact that in academics if you don't publish you perish, described the achievement as years of commitment, dedication in research, publications domestically and internationally. "It is a self-actualization and once you achieve that feat you give glory to God because some people want to achieve it but they are not alive to get to that peak. So I am celebrating today because God has given me the strength, the energy to work assiduously over the years to achieve this zenith. There were some hiccups on the way but once God has ordained you, you are good to go.
The university Don however, advised those who are working to achieve the professorship status to always be humble, respectful, loyal and perseverance so as to achieve what you want in life.
Prof Abamara equally used this opportunity to express his gratitude to his teachers at the University of Ibadan, Prof D.C.E. Ugwoegbu, Prof. Sammy Woldu, Prof S.K. Balogun, Prof Bola Udegbe, Prof. B.O. Ehigie, Prof. Helen O. Osinowo, Prof.⁵ Gbenga Sunmola, Prof. Peace Ibeagha, Prof. Sunny Irabor Idemudia, Prof Sunnysung Babalola, Prof. Kayode Taiwo, Prof. B.O. Olley, and some others. My lecturers at Unizik, Prof. Chukwuemeka Ambrose Mbanefo, Prof. Charles Anazonwu, Prof. Amaechi Nweze, Rev Fr. Prof. Jude Obinna, Ezeokana, Prof. Rita Ugokwe Joseph, Prof. M.O. Ezenwa, Prof. Harry Obi-Nwosu, Prof. Leonard Nnaemeka Ezeh, and others too numerous to mention.
"I am indeed indebted to them all. Special thanks to my late father Sir Peter Ngoka Abamara who trained me until his departure in 1998, my mother, Lady Uchenna Abamara of blessed memory who assisted me through my masters and up till this very foundation. I owe them alot and may their soul continue to rest in peace, Amen". Also, my siblings, Lolo Chizoba Ugwah (nee Abamara), Lolo Dr. Chinwe Joy Orji (nee Abamara), Mrs Nwamaka Ukoha (nee Abamara), and Dr. Kekechi Abamara of UNIZIK, they have supported me morally, financially, spiritually and otherwise. Most especially my wife, and my children for their family support and love, thank you and remain blessed".
Meanwhile, a grand reception was held after the thanksgiving at the
Stamford Hotel Event Centre where cutting of cakes, dancing, pictures and exchange of gifts formed the high point of the event.
