Police Nab 4 Suspected Armed Robbers, Kidnappers in Anambra

Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command attached to the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu in the early hours of 24th September, 2025 acting on credible intelligence, stormed Aguleri in Anambra East L.G.A and arrested four suspected members of a criminal gang allegedly involved in armed robbery and kidnapping in the area.


Confirming the report, Police Public Relations Officer Anambra State Police Command, Awka, SP Tochukwu Ikenga in a press statement made available to our Correspondent on 30th Sept, 2025 disclosed that "The suspects all males between the ages of 22 and 40 years include: Uchenna Aniegboka, Sunday Nwakalor, Chukwuebuka Aniegbunam and Onyebuchi Udemba. During the Operations, One pump action gun and one black Toyota Camry car with registration. No. SMK 835 FC were recovered".


To this end, while the suspects are still undergoing interrogation, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD reaffirms the Command’s commitment to ensuring that criminal elements have no hiding place in the State. 


He further urged members of the public to continue to provide timely information to the Police to aid in the fight against crime.


The Case shall be charged to court on the conclusion of the investigations.

  IPOB Suspends Sit At Home. The Indegeous People Of Biafra IPOB yesterday made a change of heart by suspending the proposed Sit At Home Order billed to commence on the fifth of November. Recall that the Director of Publicity for the body had earlier announced that it would commence a Sit At Home strike on the fifth of this month if it's leader Mazi Nnamd Kanu is not released unconditionally on the fourth of November.   Anambra Tribunal Strikes Out Maduka Petition. Four More May Withdraw. As Soludo , Uba Set To Inspect Materials . NKIRU NWAGBO. The Anambra governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Awka today stuck out the petition filed by the candidate of Accord party Dr Godwin Maduka. Similarly there indications that four more petitioners may withdraw their petitions against the victory if the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA following alleged internal challenges that has to do with the discrepancies between the political parties and their respective candidates.
