NASS Candidate Charges 8,000 Anambra  Women To Participate In Politics.

Over eight thousand Anambra women were yesterday charged to be more involved in Political activities in order take their pride of place in the country.

Similarly they have been enjoined to play supportive roles in their homes to earn the respect of their husbands at home.

Labour Party candidate for Awka North and South federal constituency Prof Liliana Orogbu gave this charge during the Walk For Life program and health talk organized by the Ultimate Business Women And Farmers Association Of Nigeria UBWFAN.

According to her "We are not well represented and  I am the only woman contesting under the labour party in Anambra Central Senatorial District which is not a welcome development so  we need more women in politics because we are the people to help secure our families"

"The era of it is a man's thing has passed and we can only be counted in the politics and governance of this country if we get involved in Political activities.

"If all of us here who are members of this association numbering over eight thousand can stand and be counted at least we shall have some of you in elective positions or political appointments and those burning issues about the welfare of women and children would be put on the front burner; she noted.

The National Patroness of the Association, Prof. Chinyere Stella Okunna, expressed her happiness being in the midst of  women who are doing great things. 




She noted that she has support of millions of people. In this information age, people. 

She encouraged them to vote wisely for people who can rule Nigeria well so that they  will have resources to eat balanced diet. 

She however lamented that women in Anambra State are not well positioned in the politics. That the women affairs should work harder to get it achieved. Walk for life is healthy and good. 




The wife of the Anambra state Commissioner of Police Mrs Ikemi Echeng  who is also the state Chairperson of the Police Officers Wives Association POWA who spoke through her representative  Mrs Melody Obili, 
noted  that support to women in the area of  healthy  is one that needs to be encouraged.

She promised to continue to partner with the association in all it's activities adding that the programs of the association is similar to what POWA is doing as a body.

In her address earlier the National President of the Association Hon Nkiru Nwagbo noted that "The Walk for Life project of our organization one of the ways 
 aimed at lending support to the women to keep fit while attending to their respective businesses."

"This time, we are concerned not only about their physical well being but also their mental strength and we believe that a healthy body produces stable minds."



This organization has local government Coordinators and women leaders in  all the markets in  Anambra State as well as the electoral wards in the state."

"Aside from addressing the physical and mental capacity of members we have
also perfected plans to key  into the National Economic hub of the country through different empowerment programs."she said.

A total of 17 Buildings have so far been marked for demolition in Uli Community in Ihiala local government area of Anambra state.   IPOB Suspends Sit At Home. The Indegeous People Of Biafra IPOB yesterday made a change of heart by suspending the proposed Sit At Home Order billed to commence on the fifth of November. Recall that the Director of Publicity for the body had earlier announced that it would commence a Sit At Home strike on the fifth of this month if it's leader Mazi Nnamd Kanu is not released unconditionally on the fourth of November.   Anambra Tribunal Strikes Out Maduka Petition. Four More May Withdraw. As Soludo , Uba Set To Inspect Materials . NKIRU NWAGBO. The Anambra governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Awka today stuck out the petition filed by the candidate of Accord party Dr Godwin Maduka. Similarly there indications that four more petitioners may withdraw their petitions against the victory if the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA following alleged internal challenges that has to do with the discrepancies between the political parties and their respective candidates.   Ada Jesus dies at 27 in Abuja hospital days after an encounter with Odumeje. Mercy Cynthia Mmesoma Obi, popularly known as Ada Jesus has died in an Abuja hospital of complications arising from kidney failure, few days after an encounter with Onitsha-based preacher, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, alias  Odumeje , inside his church. A video surfaced recently where the 27-year-old seriously sick young lady was taken to the pastor, to whom she went to seek forgiveness for her earlier comments, suggesting that his miracles were fake.
