Women Group Protest Assault On 12Year Old Girl By Cleric.

The sexual assault on  the twelve year old girl from Ufuma Community in Orumba North local government area has drawn the anger of a women group who are calling for justice .


Last week a young girl  from Ufuma (name withheld), was defiled by a pastor who is also a lecturer Mr Onyekwere at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka while working as a house help at the man's house.

The twelve year old girl had to jump from an  up stair for safety and broke her left leg in the process.

Though the pastor is now under police custody the Ultimate Women Traders and Farmers Association has insisted that the  suspect must be made to face the long arms of the law.

According to the National President of the Association Hon Nkiru Nwagbo who spoke to reporters in Awka during the protest; 


"This is the height of inhuman treatment on a girl child and this man just took advantage of her poverty state to defile her.


"We call on the Anambra state police command to charge the matter to court adding that the Federation of Women Lawers FIDA should take up the matter as quickly as possible.

"This crime against little girls have been a recalling decimal in most parts of Africa and we cannot allow this to continue in Nigeria .


"We also urge the newly appointed commissioner for women affairs to take this as her first line charge in restoring the dignity of a girl child and women in general; she said.

A total of 17 Buildings have so far been marked for demolition in Uli Community in Ihiala local government area of Anambra state.   IPOB Suspends Sit At Home. The Indegeous People Of Biafra IPOB yesterday made a change of heart by suspending the proposed Sit At Home Order billed to commence on the fifth of November. Recall that the Director of Publicity for the body had earlier announced that it would commence a Sit At Home strike on the fifth of this month if it's leader Mazi Nnamd Kanu is not released unconditionally on the fourth of November.   Anambra Tribunal Strikes Out Maduka Petition. Four More May Withdraw. As Soludo , Uba Set To Inspect Materials . NKIRU NWAGBO. The Anambra governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Awka today stuck out the petition filed by the candidate of Accord party Dr Godwin Maduka. Similarly there indications that four more petitioners may withdraw their petitions against the victory if the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA following alleged internal challenges that has to do with the discrepancies between the political parties and their respective candidates. Also today the tribunal judges led by it's Chairman Hon Justice D Mohammed granted the Exparte Motions filed by Prof Charles Soludo of APGA and Sen Andy Uba of APCto inspect materials used during the November 6th governorship election in the area.   Ada Jesus dies at 27 in Abuja hospital days after an encounter with Odumeje. Mercy Cynthia Mmesoma Obi, popularly known as Ada Jesus has died in an Abuja hospital of complications arising from kidney failure, few days after an encounter with Onitsha-based preacher, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, alias  Odumeje , inside his church. A video surfaced recently where the 27-year-old seriously sick young lady was taken to the pastor, to whom she went to seek forgiveness for her earlier comments, suggesting that his miracles were fake.
