I 'LL TRANSFORM ANAMBRA WITHIN ONE YEAR IN OFFICE...... OZIGBO

BY NKIRU NWAGBO.

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the November 6 election in Anambra State, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, has assured that within one year, his administration would transform the state, and leave it far better than he meets it.

Ozigbo, an award wining CEO, who was the immediate past president of Transcorp Plc, gave the assurance on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, during the party's governorship campaign grand finale held in Awka, the state capital.

The PDP standard bearer, who expressed appreciation to the faithful and party leaders for their solidarity and support, said he was compelled to join the race because of the sorry state of Anambra; which he said, he would revamp, if elected.

"We're here because we are angry on how our dear state has come to be. Anambra deserves better leadership. By the grace of God, when I become governor in few day's time, I'll deliver all that it will take to make Anambra greater.

"Support Valentine Ozigbo and Azuka Enemo. Deliver us come November 6, and we'll deliver Anambra to you. For those afraid that mayhem will happen on November 6, you have no reason to be afraid. Come out and support the best candidate to emerge for the good of our state," he said.

National Chairman of Anambra Governorship Election Campaign Council, Governor Okezie Ikpazu of Abia State, in his own remark, assured that PDP would take over Anambra State come November 6, 2021.

Ikpeazu, who insisted that the Fulani cabal would not be allowed to take over Anambra, also said that the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), has disappointed the state, and would not be given another mandate.

He said: "November 6 is another opportunity for Anambra people to decide their fate for the next four years. It is either for the better or for the worse.

"The ruling party in the state, APGA, has roundly disappointed the state, by impoverishing the people, under developing the state, and plunging the state into debt. The All Progressive Congress (APC), on the other hand, is a party of oppression.

"Anambra is left with PDP as best option. We provide the best platform and the best candidate, who is well prepared to take the state to the next level.

"Therefore, come November 6, all Anambra people, irrespective of belief, should turn out in great numbers to support PDP. Vote for somebody who will take your calls; who will not forget your efforts and contributions.

"All PDP governors are solidly behind Ozigbo. Come out and vote for PDP on November 6. No blood of any innocent voter will be shed on the election day. By God's grace, all those plotting evil on election day will be blinded."

In his own remarks, chairman of PDP in Anambra State, Chief Ndubisi Nwobu,  assured that everything will be done to ensure that PDP takes over Anambra come November 6.

Chairman of PDP Governorship Campaign Council in Anambra State, Senator Uche Ekwunife, also insisted that Anambra is for PDP for the taking.

"We're here today to declare to Anambra people that come November 6, PDP is taking over. Were here to tell Anambra people that come November 6, Valentine Ozigbo will be elected next governor of the state.

"We call on Anambra people - all eligible voters; to come with their PVCs and vote for Ozigbo," she said.

Also speaking, deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shuaibu, urged Anambra electorate to use their votes to change the fortune of the state.

Former governor of Anambra State, and vice presidential candidate of the party, posited that Anambra, as at the moment, has collapsed completely, adding that PDP is on the mission to rescue the state.

"Presently, there are no motorable road in Anambra. We left the state that was sound; without owing any pensioner, contractor or workers; yet, we left N75 billion in the coffers .

"Today, the APGA government has plundered the state, and still plunged the it into debt to the tune of N140billion," he said.

Governor Oluseyin Makinde of Oyo State, in his own remark, said the election of Saturday is not only the between good and bad, but also an election to decide the best for Anambra State.

He said: "Anambra State must bury politics of sentiment, and make sure they vote for the best. Valentine Ozigbo is the best candidate, and PDP is the best party," he noted.

Speaking, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, said November 6 election in Anambra is for the youths and women, and urged them to come together and take over the state.

He said: "God has given this election to PDP for the good of the state. What God has give to you, don't throw it away."

Highpoint of the event was defection of a lawmaker representing Idemili South in the Anambra House of Assembly, Hon. Chuka Ezenwune, to PDP with over 3000 supporters.
