Supreme Court Declares Ozigbo Authentic  Candidate of PDP.

Superme Court of Nigeria has declared Mr Valentine Ozigbo the authentic candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Nov. 6 governorship election in Anambra.

The judgment of the apex court delivered in Abuja on Thursday being 21st of October had put to final rest the issues surrounding who the real candidate of the party was following the purportedly   emergency of Sen. Ugochukwu Uba as a parallel candidate of the party  on June 26.

The panel of Justices, led by Justice Inyang Okoro which affirmed the decision of the Court of Appeal Awka Division delivered on Sept 3, awarded a N5 million penalty against Uba.

The Supreme Court struck out all challenges to Ozigbo’s candidacy and awarded and described Uba as a meddlesome interloper while awarding a N5m penalty against Senator Uba for damages.

The panel of justices, led by His Lordship, Justice Inyang Okoro affirmed the decision of the Court of Appeal Awka Division delivered on September 3, 2021, which declared him the authentic governorship candidate of the PDP. 

HURRICANE NEWS reports that Ozigbo was present in the Supreme Court in company of former Governor of Anambra, Mr Peter Obi, and Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.

  IPOB Suspends Sit At Home. The Indegeous People Of Biafra IPOB yesterday made a change of heart by suspending the proposed Sit At Home Order billed to commence on the fifth of November. Recall that the Director of Publicity for the body had earlier announced that it would commence a Sit At Home strike on the fifth of this month if it's leader Mazi Nnamd Kanu is not released unconditionally on the fourth of November.   Anambra Tribunal Strikes Out Maduka Petition. Four More May Withdraw. As Soludo , Uba Set To Inspect Materials . NKIRU NWAGBO. The Anambra governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Awka today stuck out the petition filed by the candidate of Accord party Dr Godwin Maduka. Similarly there indications that four more petitioners may withdraw their petitions against the victory if the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA following alleged internal challenges that has to do with the discrepancies between the political parties and their respective candidates. Mercy Cynthia Mmesoma Obi, popularly known as Ada Jesus has died in an Abuja hospital of complications arising from kidney failure, few days after an encounter with Onitsha-based preacher, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, alias  Odumeje , inside his church.
