One killed, 7 arrested over cultism and inhuman treatment on widow. One suspected cultist was yeasterday killed and one person arrested by officers and men of the Anambra State Police command in connection to the killings at the funeral at Ebenebe town in Awka North local government area. Similarly six persons have been arrested in connection with the inhuman treatment carried out on Mrs Ajuese a widow from Aguleri Anambra East local government who the angry mob alleged that she killed her husband.   Ban On Unapproved Police Uniforms, CP calls for strict Compliance . Following the directive by the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba(IGP) on immediate ban of unapproved uniform and outfit of personnel when performing their duties, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng(CP) has directed all the command disciplinary units particularly the Command Provost, X-Squad, Monitoring and Public Complain Unit to ensure strict compliance. The CP said the directive is on police officers detailed for patrol, stop and search, check point, and other routine operational duties, insisting that they must be on approved uniforms when performing their duties in the State.   Anambra PPRO Ikenga Tochukwu (DSP) Woman striped naked, assaulted for allegedly killing husband with sex. A lady who could have been a victim of the action of an angry mob has been rescued by the operatives of Anambra State Police Command. In a video trending online, the lady was accused of causing the death of her husband by giving him an overdose sex. In the video seen by our correspondent, the victim was lying lifeless while the lady was stripped naked and all manner of abuses are  rained on her. The members of Aguleri community in Anambra East local government of the state said she killed her husband with overdose of sex and accused her of so many unprintable things.   Disaster: Official calls for collaboration between NSCDC, Anambra Mr Evaristus Obiyo, the State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has called for collaboration between Anambra residents and the corps in disaster management. Obiyo made the call during a mini event to mark the 2022 World Civil Day in his office on Tuesday in Awka. He said that civil defence as a body is saddled with the responsibility to manage disaster and protect critical national assets. The Anambra NSCDC official noted  that management of disaster in Anambra had not been easy adding that the masses do not understand the role of the corps. “In Anambra when disaster occur, NSCDC usually cordon off the venue before rendering first aid service. “But challenges we encounter are inadequacy of vehicles and other logistics which we continue to appeal that communities, local and state governments should support us”, he said. By Nkiru Nwagbo Date February 10th 2022 Traders in Anambra state came close to exchange of blows between them and officials of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps NSDC and the Anambra Traffic Management Agency ATMA over payment of sanitation levy. To this end traders and other businessmen in the state have sworn to attack any of the security personnels and officers of the Anambra State Revenue Agency found trying to collect money from them.
