Stakeholders Extolls Umeh's Immense Contributions To Society 

.... Demand his return to the red Chambers

The popular Oma event center located at the heart of Awka hosted men of timber and calibre from political, royal,  academic and business class as they trooped to honour and celebrate distinguished Senator Victor Umeh OFR for his immense contributions to the development of Anambra Central  Central Senatorial District and Anambra State at large.


The stakeholders made a clarion call, demanding the return of Victor Umeh (Ohamadike) to the Senate to represent the people's interest at the 10th Senate giving his bold and courageous performance at the floor of the 8th Senate.


Several of the guests made reference to the leadership acumen and large heart of the senator and made stance of his magnamity and capacity to make an impactful representation, referencing the various bills and motions sponsored by the distinguished senator during his short stay at the 8th Senate.


Some of them includes,  a motion on illegal confinement of underage offenders and infants in the same prison with adults prisoners, urgent need to appoint a representative of the south east into the National Defense Council and the National Security council, as well as bill on Federal University of Education Aguleri, Anambra State,  which was given favourable considerations by the Federal government amongst other landstride achievements.


The Covener of the programme, High Chief Ben Obi in his address described Umeh as a man of integrity.   


According to him " Senator Umeh did not miss a plenary session. His voice was loud that every Igbo man began to hear the activities of this proud and illustrious son of ndi Igbo at the 8th Assembly. 


In his remarks, lgwe elect of Umuoji, Chief Kanayo Okoye emphasized the need to show enormous support for the distinguished senator to represent the people. 


"Victor and I have been close friends since our primary school days. Our relationship has spanned for over 45 years and l can attest to his vast dexter personality. He is the voice of Igbo man, He said. 


"lt is high time, Anambra Central support their son. He is a person that would ensure maximum socio economic development reaches out to every part of the area. God's  willing,  it will work out in the next elections so we can get things right in the state, he added "


In support, Obi Ochije Modilim explained the reason behind the solidarity movement. According to him, it will be a wise choice of the people to reinforce their commitment to ensure we enjoy the dividends of democracy, 


"Sir Victor Umeh inspires people to greatness. His presence in the 10th Assembly will bring much impact to the populace. You must understand that he has the been of immense support to many students and professionals especially in the contributing his quota to the society. "


Another, Barr. Ekemezie Obidigwe, reaffirm APGA resolute to have more elected members in the seat of power come 2023.

 

"APGA has the quality to deliver its senatorial candidates in the 2023 election. lt is a wrong approach and ignorance to reason that the party lacks a member in the red Chambers because of poor representation or low popularity of the party candidate most especially because it is believed to be a state party. 


'I believe with proper approach, APGA will have the day. It has outstanding candidates with magnamity and capacity and leadership foresight. 


The legal practitioner cautioned against making hasty decisions in the choice of leaders, " National Assembly is not a women affairs. It is the affairs of men, with character and courage. We need somebody to stand up for the rights of the Igbo man, he stated. "


Dignitaries at the occasion includes, Chief Linus Chukwurah, Hon. Dr. Ikechukwu Oforkansi,  Bob-Manuel Udoukwu , Hon. Dr. Simeon Toochukwu Obiadi, among others.
