Yuletide: Anambra Police ban use of fire works 






Anambra Police Command has banned the use of fire works during this Christmas and New Year seasons warning parents and Community Leaders to ensure strict compliance to the directives.

According to a release sign by the Police Public Relations Officer DSP Tochukwu Ikenga "this is part of measures by the command to ensure and sustain public safety and peace in the state.


"As part of a proactive measure by the Anambra State Police Command to sustain public safety and peace in the state, the Commissioner of Police,  CP Echeng Echeng* has banned the sale and use of fireworks, knockouts, and firecrackers in the state."

"This plan shall enhance adequately already policing strategy put in place that is potently and dynamic to respond to any emergency and security concerns peculiar to Christmas and end-of-the-year festivities."

"The Commissioner noted that the use of knockouts, and others, aside from constituting nuisance and disturbance of public peace, is also capable of causing unnecessary fear and apprehension and other dangers associated with its usage, especially during this harmattan period"

" This is in addition to the possibility of providing an escape space for criminals after the commission of a crime." 

"The Commissioner equally called on parents/guardians to impress on their children and wards to desist from the sales and use of fireworks, firecrackers, knockouts, and others as the ban is in the best interest of all"

"He warned persons trading in these banned items to seek alternative ventures".

"He assures that the Command would leave no stone unturned to ensure, that there would not be any form of Security breach, especially during this yuletide season, and also urge *Ndi Anambra* to be vigilant and security conscious"

"They are advised to report all suspicious movements or in case of any emergency to call 112 or 07039194332 " he added.

  IPOB Suspends Sit At Home. The Indegeous People Of Biafra IPOB yesterday made a change of heart by suspending the proposed Sit At Home Order billed to commence on the fifth of November. Recall that the Director of Publicity for the body had earlier announced that it would commence a Sit At Home strike on the fifth of this month if it's leader Mazi Nnamd Kanu is not released unconditionally on the fourth of November.   Anambra Tribunal Strikes Out Maduka Petition. Four More May Withdraw. As Soludo , Uba Set To Inspect Materials . NKIRU NWAGBO. The Anambra governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Awka today stuck out the petition filed by the candidate of Accord party Dr Godwin Maduka. Similarly there indications that four more petitioners may withdraw their petitions against the victory if the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA following alleged internal challenges that has to do with the discrepancies between the political parties and their respective candidates. Mercy Cynthia Mmesoma Obi, popularly known as Ada Jesus has died in an Abuja hospital of complications arising from kidney failure, few days after an encounter with Onitsha-based preacher, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, alias  Odumeje , inside his church. A video surfaced recently where the 27-year-old seriously sick young lady was taken to the pastor, to whom she went to seek forgiveness for her earlier comments, suggesting that his miracles were fake.
