AS U-AWA, U- AYA TARGETS 250M SUPPORTERS.

Former Central Bank of Nigeria CBN governor Prof Charles Soludo yesterday put to rest all curiosity and permutations over his rumoured ambition for the governoship seat of Anambra state when he finally declared his interest in the November 6th election in the area.

Though he said that he is still consulting, but he accepted the call by the United Anambra Youth Assembly U- AYA and United Anambra Women Assembly U-AWA for him to contest for the governoship election under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA.

Confirming his declaration the founder of the two pressure groups , U-AWA and U-AYA and members l representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency Chief Chinedu Obidigwe made it clear that going by Soludo's acceptance to their call to come and contest under APGA he has officially made his declaration.

Speaking at the New Year Activation Meeting of the two organizations which also included over twenty seven Soludo support groups, the former CBN governor noted that the hand of God is in his ambition noting that he will not disappoint his supporters.

"This is something that started last year January and has continued with such a crowd of supporters and that shows that the hand of God is in this journey.

We have done it for Nigeria when I was CBN governor and those years were the golden age of Nigeria"s economy and while in office we created 12.6 million jobs and in Anambra we shall do more than that.

"God has blessed me with good health, wealth and happy family and indeed I am humbled God's blessings and I am not asking God to give me this or that but I am asking him to use me as an instrument to touch the lives of people and I offer myself as that instrument in the hand of God to touch the lives of people.

" This journey is not a one man journey but a journey of all of us and if we remain united we shall get to our destination by the grace of God.

"You do not need certificate to impact on the lives of the people and if you like have all the university degrees from where ever but you don't need those certificate to render service and good governance to your people..

His Excellency Gov Willie Obiano has done so well and that is to the credit of APGA and we shall sustain it ; You will remember that the governor was going for second tenure I said why are you want to mend it if it is not broken and I stand by what I said.

In responds to Soludo speech , The member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency Chief Chinedu Obidigwe stated that there so no more reason for any body to begin to ask questions if Soludo is contesting adding that he has accepted their plea to contest under the platform of APGA 

Speaking earlier Chief Chinedu Obidigwe announced that the two organizations of U-AWA and U-AWA has commenced the  campaign of 500 members for greater 500,000 members which according to him would bring the number of Soludo supporters to 2.500 million supporters adding that the local government to local government as well as tour of the 362 electoral wards in the state next week.

Also speaking the speaker Anambra state House of Assembly Mr Uchenna Okafor described Soludo as the best for APGA adding that with him as APGA candidate, the part is coasting to victory insisting that Anambra has no other choice.

  IPOB Suspends Sit At Home. The Indegeous People Of Biafra IPOB yesterday made a change of heart by suspending the proposed Sit At Home Order billed to commence on the fifth of November. Recall that the Director of Publicity for the body had earlier announced that it would commence a Sit At Home strike on the fifth of this month if it's leader Mazi Nnamd Kanu is not released unconditionally on the fourth of November.   Anambra Tribunal Strikes Out Maduka Petition. Four More May Withdraw. As Soludo , Uba Set To Inspect Materials . NKIRU NWAGBO. The Anambra governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Awka today stuck out the petition filed by the candidate of Accord party Dr Godwin Maduka. Similarly there indications that four more petitioners may withdraw their petitions against the victory if the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA following alleged internal challenges that has to do with the discrepancies between the political parties and their respective candidates. Mercy Cynthia Mmesoma Obi, popularly known as Ada Jesus has died in an Abuja hospital of complications arising from kidney failure, few days after an encounter with Onitsha-based preacher, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, alias  Odumeje , inside his church.
